    Going to college is a monumental accomplishment for any incoming freshman, but for some students, this isn’t just a personal achievement — it’s a milestone for everyone in their family. First-generation college students can be a source of pride for a family but being the first to get a college degree also can come with unique challenges — namely, that they cannot benefit from their parents’ college-going experience. Come join us as we explore what it means to be a first-generation student, some obstacles you may face, and some tips and strategies on how to face them head on.
